Agreement
Fruitbeat is part of the Membership Program of Global Music Garden, which has a yearly Membership Fee though there are different Membership Levels depending on your budget. Fruitbeat also receives a commission of 15% of "net receipts" from each and every stream and download. "Net receipts" is what Fruitbeat receives after The Orchard plus each distribution service (Spotify, Apple Music, etc) deducts their cost of service.
Payment will happen twice a year, within 90 days after 30th of June and within 90 days after 31st of December. Roughly, that would place the payment schedule within January to March and July to September of every year.
During those times, once you have more than 20 € in your account, you may request for payment at the payment form.
Preparing for Upload
Fruitbeat’s standard audio spec is:
- WAV (.wav) Format
- 16-bit or 24-bit
- 44.1 kHz
- Microsoft PCM codec
- Stereo
Our full list of accepted formats is:
- WAV (.wav) and FLAC (.flac):
- 16-bit: 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz
- 24-bit: 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 96 kHz, 176.4 kHz, 192 kHz
Apple Lossless (.m4a):
- 16-bit/44.1 kHz only
Please do not upload mixed bit depth releases (a combination of 16-bit and 24-bit tracks on the same release).
To ensure proper quality, please source your audio directly from a production master export. Audio files created from a compressed format (e.g. MP3, AAC, or WMA) will have an inferior sound quality, and therefore should not be uploaded into our system.
Timing limitations vary from store to store, but here are a couple to note:
- Release length limit of 10 hours for Deezer and Spotify
- Track limit of 250 for iTunes
Please note that titles with longer time durations will take longer to deliver to stores which do accept them.
We typically recommend submitting audio releases 6-8 weeks before release date. Please note that delivery times can vary from one store to another.
An International Standard Recording Code, or ISRC, is a 12 character alphanumeric code that identifies a unique sound recording or music video. An ISRC should never change once assigned. If a master sound recording or music video has been distributed before by another record label or service, then you must re-use the previously-assigned ISRC. This is very important for rights management and royalty collections.
Yes. You can choose to have us assign an ISRC to a track if it’s the first time the track is being made available commercially. You should not use this feature if the underlying master sound recording for your track was assigned an ISRC previously, regardless of whether it was assigned to you or another party. Once a product has been delivered, its ISRCs can be referenced in the Products page in Catalog.
Image specs are as folllows:
- TIF (.tif) or JPG (.jpg or .jpeg) format
- Minimum 3000 x 3000 pixels and maximum 6000 x 6000 pixels
- 300 DPI
- RGB color
- Square
Please remove any crop marks, references to physical packaging, or promotional language from your cover image.
Pricing
Yes you can. The pricing in Product Builder provides options for pricing tiers which map to the comparable price settings across various stores. Your default pricing tier can be managed in your account under the Defaults section of the Admin page. In Product Builder, you can also set individual track pricing.
You can view specific price code mappings in the following Orchard Pricing Tier rate cards:
Uploading Tracks
Besides upgrading your internet speed, you can reduce your upload time almost in half by exporting your audio as an Apple Lossless .M4A file, which is almost half the size of a standard WAV file. If using this approach, please note that the encoder must be set to Apple Lossless (not AAC). Both encoders can be saved with an .M4A extension, but The Orchard only accepts 16-bit, 44.1kHz Apple Lossless .M4A files.
First, try re-uploading the track in one of these two ways:
- Delete the track and start a new upload
- Click the track you want to edit and use the re-upload button
