Traditional Arts in Music Videos

There are hundreds of unexplored traditional or ethnic theatrical styles and dances around the world, and you might just find the next big thing if you search real good.

Some videos below show artists who have taken ideas from traditional theatrical styles around the world, fusing with modern styles to create into something 'new'; like David Bowie, who create the "Star Man" from Japanese Kabuki, or Beyonce who created the "Single Ladies" choreography from "Mexican Breakfast". Other videos show selected interesting traditional theater and dances from around the world, like the Maori Haka, or Chinese Wushu, and more.

    2. Please send only video links. We cannot accept uploads or physical material in the mail.
    3. Both low and high quality audio and video recordings are accepted and will not affect judges' decisions. Winning will depend on the artistic / musical quality of the song, and not the recording and production budget.
    4. You can submit a song to THE RACE only once for the whole year or season. You can submit the same song if you choose to join again next year/season.
    5. Song must abide by Global Music Garden's Standard for Community Content. If anything does not agree, we reserve the right to request content to be censored first before we publish it online. You can check the Community Standards here.
    6. 100% ownership of content or song submissions to The Race rightfully belongs to the artist. Global Music Garden only reserves the right to use it for promotional purposes.
