Airi’s shows their place in the sun with a burning guitar in their first music video
In the new music video for their single ”Does the Sun Smile to You?” Finnish band Airi’s displays how the band was put together and goes through the story in one day. At the end of the video an acoustic guitar sets on fire which acts as a metaphor for letting go of the dark thoughts in the day and welcoming the warm light of the sun into one’s life.
In Airi’s' lyrics, pent-up glooms of the human mind act as a driving force for the band's sun-drenched reality. The band describes that in their music the revealing and the decisive power of the sun also radiates to the ears of listeners. The lively undertones of reality brought to life by the sun shine through in music, warming the minds of listeners.
The band is inspired by the big stadion rock and pop bands such as U2 and Foo Fighters. In addition to the core band Airi’s strives for utilizing a diverse set of instruments. In “Does the Sun Smile to You?” you can hear a three piece horn section a choir and synthesizers. “Does the Sun Smile to You?” was recorded by Jani Viitanen at the Headline Studios in Tampere, Finland. The brass sounds are a surprising follow-up to the violin arrangement of the band’s first single “Girls”.
The band’s visionary Joni Hartikainen talks about Airi’s: “The origin of our band goes back to the fall of 2017 when I began to focus on writing my own songs. Then me and our guitarist Tuomas Hokkanen decided to start a new band together. The music video tells about the birth of the band and also the ideas behind it.”
