Countdown to the end of The Race
Winners of the The Race from each country or continent will go directly to the World Final as their country's representative. (Terms and Conditions) The World Final happens in a different country every year, and this season it will happen in Athens, Greece.
GBOB is The Global Battle of the Bands - the worldwide music competition for bands playing their own songs, live - having reached over 50,000 musicians in 45 countries for 15 years. Live Competitions happen in different countries around the world, and the winners will go to the GBOB World Final.
Every week and month, we feature the best songs and videos from different categories.
Judges, Panel Voters and A&R in The Race and in GBOB are the Staff and Guest Industry Professionals from different areas of both the Indie and Mainstream Music Industry. Past jugdes in GBOB include Steve Lillywhite, Jime Lowe (Grammy-winning Producers), Glenn Matlock (Sex Pistols), Kee Marcello (Europe), Ben Adams (A1), and more.
Top bands will also win various prizes from Partners and Sponsors in each participating country and/or worldwide. Previous partners of GBOB around the world include MTV, Redbull, Converse, more.

Terms and Conditions
- The TOP 3 BANDS WORLDWIDE in The Race (based on number of points) will play live at the GBOB World Final.
- If a country HAS A LIVE COMPETITION in it, the top bands in The Race will go to the GBOB National Final of that country. After the National Final, every band in that country still has a chance to go to the World Final if they become one of the Top 3 Bands Worldwide. (Note that those who performed live are still able to participate in the Race. If they didn't make it to the National Final in the Live Qualifications, they still have a second chance to get to the National Final by being one of the top scoreres in The Race at their country).
- If a country DOESN'T HAVE A LIVE COMPETITION in it, the top band in that country will go to the GBOB World Final if there are enough number of participants in the country. If there are only a few participants in a certain country, they will be regrouped with other countries in their region or continent, and the top band in that region or continent will go to the GBOB World Final. (For example, if there are only 3 bands participating in El Salvador, they will be regrouped with other participating bands in Central America. Then the winner in Central America will go to the World Final. If, however El Salvador has, for example, 200 bands participating online, they will not be regrouped with other countries in Central America, and the top band in El Salvador will go to the World Final. And if later on, another band in El Salvador becomes one of the top 3 bands worldwide by the end of the year, that band will also go to the World Final - thus the World Final will have two bands from El Salvador.)
- The number of bands per regional or national competition depends on the population size of the country and/or the number of musicians in it.
